Here are the 5 most common jobs you could land with an undergrad status.
1. Service Crew
Requirements:
White Health Card (Philippines)
Clearance (to prove you don't have a criminal record)
CV/Resume (of course, how would you apply without one)
Application Letter
Proof of education (High School diploma/Vocational Diploma)
This is the most common job for any undergraduate in the Philippines and most likely around the world. For starters all you need is good hygiene and proper grooming. Don't worry about the skill because it can be learned through training. Luckily, fast food chains are kind enough to help undergraduates land a job.
2. Promo Merchandiser
Requirements:
White/Green card (green for physical jobs like a hardware depot/furniture shop, white care for food)
Clearances (to prove you don't have a criminal record)
CV/Resume
Application Letter
This is my personal favorite, you basically just need to be confident and know what's in and what's not. as a promo merchandiser you are in charge of inventory, product display and profits monitoring. The job is not really that hard depending on what you are selling. The basic skill you need to learn is providing excellent customer service, which is not that hard if you are good with people.
3. Telemarketer
Requirements:
Clearances (again to make sure that you don't have any criminal record)
Proof of Education
CV/Resume
Application Letter
I can personally attest that this has the highest income profitability as an undergraduate. the Philippines is well known as the best English speaking country in Asia. I know that most people would hesitate because they are not that good with their English communication skills, remember that everything can be learned with wholehearted dedication and perseverance. All you need is good English speaking skills and good listening habits, if you already have this trait then good for you, if not keep practicing and eventually you will be ready. The last thing you should do to tackle this job is to be CONFIDENT.
4. Store Attendant
Requirements:
Clearances (I will go into detail, Police clearance/NBI clearance, anything that ends with clearance)
Proof of Education
CV/Resume
Application Letter
This job is actually a good stepping stone if you are planning to start your own business, you would actually have an idea of running your own business in the future. you just need to a have a pleasing personality in order to take up this kind of job. You just need to know the fundamental basics of life to take up a job this easy. I always repeat this phrase, always remember CONFIDENCE!
5. Factory Worker
Requirements:
Clearances (To make sure you do not have any public offense/crimes made)
Proof Of Education
CV/Resume
Application Letter
This is a good stepping stone if you have plans working overseas (if you are filipino). Most of the companies would welcome you with open arms, as a factory worker you are a part of the manufacturing of a particular product. All you need is the basic requirements and then you can start applying as a factory worker as soon as possible.
The Verdict:
Fear is just a word, Guts is the verb. Eliminate your fear of rejection, stop trying and start doing.
I hope this little post enlighten every undergrad who will come across this post.
Stay Tuned for the next episode.
